Preview: Keira Kelly
I would like to try something new with the blog. I want to post some preview images taken during a photo session. I will start today with Keira Kelly. I had a wonderful session with her in March. As I wrote in my previous entry, it was the session attended by Mclain and Rob, the two Canadian fine-art photographers.
Keira is a beautiful redhead with a delightful little smile. Here are some samples from some of her galleries. Let me know if you like the preview, and any ideas you have on how it could be better.

Dear Mr Perry,
In your Keira session, the beautiful Keira has nearly the same smile in nearly all the pictures. I believe the pictures improve greatly when variety of expression is added to the portfolio. Would you agree?

Hi Kesara. Very good observation! Yes, I agree completely. I ask the models for variety, and for expressions I consider more erotic than a smiley face. However, when working with models, I don’t always get what I ask for, and I think that’s a good thing.
Before the model and I begin shooting, I describe to her what I want. As we shoot, I try to guide her into the emotions and expressions I am looking for. However, I’ve learned from experience that if I push too much the model can look uncomfortable and the poses forced.
Regardless of what emotion and expression I’m looking for, it’s more important to me that the model looks natural, relaxed and that her own personality guide her poses and expressions. I don’t want the model to look like she is trying to pose, because then the poses look stiff and awkward. If the photo doesn’t quite work as an erotic photo, at least it is relaxed, natural and pleasant to look at.
Each model has a “natural” way of posing that works for her. More experienced models can usually do more. Some viewers might think Keira’s photos have less variety and less eroticism than they could have. I feel that they are relaxed, natural and provide another form of variety - variety between models. Keira’s expressions add some good variety to Torrid Art. And as you mentioned, she is a very beautiful woman.
I think you will like the next model, Melisa.
