Dear friends of Torrid Art,

Hi everyone. Ryder here. In 2008 Torrid Art reached a milestone: 50 models online. At least, it was a milestone in my mind. :-) With the 50th model, Lisa, I felt that Torrid Art became a "real" site.

We are a small team with limited resources. So in the second half of 2008 we decided to slow the growth of the site in order to enter a period of development. There are some exciting new features being developed, which will roll out in early 2009.

With some luck, we will return to our original update schedule soon. Thanks for your patience.

I wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2009.

New photo set - Jana C on the bed
87 photos

Here's Jana C with another one of her beautiful dresses from her native Prague.

Beds are tricky to light evenly from front to back without having the light look drab and flat. For this gallery I used one of my "standard setups," which seemed to work well for Jana C. I like this type of lighting because it gives Jana C a "3 dimensional" quality, and shows some of her wonderful skin texture.

New photo set - Ruby in purple
102 photos

Ruby's wardrobe for this gallery is a beautiful, long, purple dress. But for these two images, I chose to show you Ruby's skin. You can see Ruby's dress draped over the back of the chair.

This gallery is almost a natural light gallery. I used strobes, but their power was turned way down so we could see the light outside the window. (If I had set the strobe power to "normal" levels, the window would look dark, like night.) So the images have a "low light" character - there is more noise (grain) in the images than a fully strobe gallery. I like this characteristic for some galleries, but not every one.

Torrid Art - Not the biggest, not the "best on the web"
Torrid Art is the hand-crafted website of one photographer and one author. We are not big. We don't update every day. We don't have the "best on the web" of anything. We just have some really good, original stuff.
