A model to die for, and a coffin: a tribute to Jana Cova

I arrived at the house for my photo session with Jana Cova. It was a last-minute replacement location and I didn’t like it - it was not a good fit with Jana and had too many near-white walls. For photography, I am not a fan of white walls.

The first thing is to look through the house and decide where to set up for a gallery of Jana.

The home owner showed us around to all the rooms. In a corner of the house we stumbled upon a coffin. A real coffin! The owner ignored it like it wasn’t there. When I timidly asked about it, he assured me it was empty. It had been rented for use in a "Halloween" party a few nights before. We joked about using it in a photo set with Jana, and didn’t mention the coffin again after that!

New photo set - Jana C Jana's secret
55 photos

As I was photographing this gallery, I turned to our makeup artist and said "look at those legs!" Her reply to me became the basis for the name of this gallery: "Jana is like a Victoria's Secret model."

This gallery takes advantage of the low autumn sun and the colors of the changing leaves in the trees behind Jana.

To take a photograph in these conditions, I needed to add light to Jana, and it needed to be adjusted to just the right brightness so she was not too bright or too dark relative to the light outside. In other words, Jana and the scene outdoors needed to be "balanced." I used a single flash unit. The sun and the sky were my other light sources on Jana.

New photo set - Aimee on the stairs
92 photos

Aimee's clothes add contrast and color to a rather light-toned scene. Well, until the clothes have gone missing! This is another relaxed, cozy setting where Aimee can bring her own kind of eroticism and those beautiful, long legs.

I often like to shine light through the bannister of stairs, creating interesting light and shadows. I did that here and I hope it helps to bring out Aimee's curves in the bottom photo.
